🗞️The value of marketing your business - By Jonathan Broekman

I recently attended a board meeting with The Alternative Board, and a fascinating topic was raised.

Why do you need a website?

Having a website is no longer a luxury-it's a necessity. As we witness an unprecedented digital transformation, the importance of an online presence cannot be overstated. For businesses, entrepreneurs, and professionals, a website is a central hub that ties together various aspects of online and offline activities.

Credibility and Professionalism: A well-designed website enhances your credibility. It shows you are serious about your business and provides a professional image.

Centralised Information Hub: Your website is centralised for all your information. Everything is available in one place, whether it's property listings, service offerings, contact details, or customer testimonials. This makes it easier for visitors to find what they want without navigating multiple platforms.

Enhanced Visibility and Reach: Search engine optimisation (SEO) is critical to digital marketing. A well-optimized website ensures your business appears in search engine results, increasing your visibility and reach. Unlike social media, where your content is subject to the platform's algorithms, a website allows you to control your SEO strategy and improve your online presence.

Customer Engagement and Interaction: A website provides multiple channels for customer engagement, including contact forms, live chat, and newsletters. These tools facilitate direct communication with potential clients, helping you build relationships and respond to inquiries promptly.

Integration with Social Media and Other Platforms: Social media is an excellent tool for reaching new audiences, but it works best when integrated with a website. Your website can host detailed blog posts, property listings, and resources you can share on social media to drive traffic back to your site for retargeting purposes. This creates a cohesive online presence that maximises your marketing efforts.

Data Collection and Analysis: Website analytics tools provide valuable insights into visitor behaviour. Understanding how visitors interact with your site, which pages they visit, and how long they stay can inform your marketing strategies and help you improve user experience.

Think about the elements of your business that need the most attention. For small businesses, no two are ever alike. However, one thing that builds out their brand and message is an attractive, efficient, and informative website.
