So, it's February again - the festive season is over and your holiday is almost forgotten. It's that time of the year when many of us have made new plans and set new goals for the new year. If one of your goals is to be more healthy and to trim down to that svelte figure again, then here are 4 healthy, delicious and nutritious smoothies to kickstart your 2021 healthy regime.
 

1. Hidden Greens Smoothie

A tasty smoothie masking green veggies with diced mango to boost your energy levels.  Add more mango, pieces of pineapple or some honey to sweeten, if needed.
 

Ingredients:

1 cup of spinach

1 cup of kale

½ an avocado, diced

1 cup of diced mango

1 tablespoon of chia seeds

2 cups of water

Ice
 

Method:

Mix all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

2.Tropical Splash Smoothie

Coconut cream and pineapple hints of the sunny tropics and pina coladas in this .....
 

Ingredients:

1 cup of pineapple

1 cup of mango

½ cup of frozen passion fruit pulp

1 tablespoon of chia seeds

1 tablespoon of flax seeds

2 tablespoons of coconut cream

1 ½ cups of almond milk or water

Ice
 

Method:

Mix all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

3. A Very Berry Power Smoothie

Who doesn't love berries! Here blueberries and strawberries are blended with healthy leafy greens.
 

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups milk (can substitute with soya, a nut or coconut milk)

1 cup frozen blueberries

4 large frozen strawberries, chopped

1/2 frozen banana

1 1/2 tbsp chia seeds

Large handful baby kale or spinach

Pinch of cinnamon
 

Method:

Blend in your blender until fully smooth. 

Add more milk if desired. 

Sprinkle a few Chia seeds on top to garnish.

4. Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

This peanut butter delight is sure to become a firm favourite.
 

Ingredients:

2 cups frozen sliced bananas

1/2 cup nonfat Greek yogurt

1/2 tablespoon ground flax seeds

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons all-natural peanut butter
 

Method:

Place all ingredients into a blender, a high speed blender is preferable.

Blend on high until smooth. 

Add more almond milk as needed.

Serve immediately.
